Belt squeaking in rain/removing fender rails

hello,
Just bought 96 Savage with 7000 km (april 5th 2002).
Great ride, drove 2000k already mainly communting.
Looking forward for a longer trip.


My belt is squeaking when driving in the rain or on wet road but silent when the weather is dry anybody can help ?

Can rear fender rails be removed and still keeping passenger pad? or is there a risk to twist or bent the fender ?
